About the Tinman
|
Doug French was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He has been working with sheet metal for 45 years, and he is committed to high quality, high integrity production. He started out laying brick, block and stone for six years in Colorado before moving on to sheet metal. He returned to the Northwest to start his own shop in 1981. He believes that a person's environment has a profound impact on their life, and he strives to ensure that his work is both highly functional and aesthetically pleasing. In his own words: "It’s easy to admire the tight fit, the polished shine, and the well-executed details of a custom range hood - it's the focal point of the kitchen. But is is equally satisfying to know that the piece of flashing that I put behind a chimney will continue to do its job in keeping the water out. I take pride in seeing the results of my work. There is also a feeling of humility and commonality, knowing that I am just one of many builders who work hard to get it right." |
